Kyrgyzstan will officially implement a comprehensive ban on e-cigarettes starting in mid-2025.
Recently, the country’s President, Sadyr Japarov, signed a law titled "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts in the Field of Public Health Protection," which explicitly bans the import, sale, and use of e-cigarettes. The ban will take effect on July 1, 2025.
According to the law, individuals who violate the regulations by importing e-cigarettes will face penalties ranging from two months to one year of corrective labor or a fine of up to $1,390. If the quantity imported is large, the violator could face fines of up to $2,300 or up to two years of imprisonment.
After July 1, 2025, businesses that continue to sell e-cigarettes will be fined between $230 and $750. Individuals found using e-cigarettes will face a fine of $115.
